Sunday Worship Schedule

Each of Southern Hills' Sunday worship gatherings are efforts to reach out to and include our community.  The 8:15 a.m. service is called Daybreak, while the 11:00 a.m. service is called Refresh.  (To view videos which help explain Daybreak and Refresh, click here and here.)  The 5:00 p.m. service is called Sundown.

Daybreak, our 8:15 a.m. worship gathering, is what so many members and guests have appreciated and loved for years. We call this service Daybreak because many folks in our church family, and many who visit with us, love to get their Sundays started with the Lord and His people.

Refresh, our 11:00 a.m. worship gathering, is different in several ways to specifically reach out to our young adult population in Abilene which remains largely unchurched. Everything about Refresh is structured to communicate in ways that connect with this community-focused and media-based culture.

Sundown, our 5:00 p.m. worship gathering, provides an opportunity for members and guests to share meaningful worship and communion in the evening.  This gathering, which meets in the chapel, is designed to conclude in time for our Sunday night Groups to meet.

All of Southern Hills' worship experiences are tied together by what we call the Core Teaching Thread, a common theme that is present in both assemblies that keeps our entire church on track with the same focus.  In addition, we do several key ministry events and special Sundays each year where we all worship together at one time and invite the community to join us.

Our shepherds are excited about this coordinated effort to reach out to more of the community of Abilene as God's Community Front Porch
